The Area

150 mtrs from the house, Chez Renard has a small (about 20 pitches) camping and caravanning site by the river, also a children's playground, paddling pool, crazy golf, petanque courts(boules) and small beach. There is quite a gathering of locals during the summer weekends, sunning them selves and swimming in the river. The bar/restaurant/tabac is about 200 mtrs up the road from the house. The restaurant is mainly open for lunch, and in the summer a shorter menu is usually available on the terrace in the evenings. The boulangerie is another 400 metres up the hill, a good walk for bread and croissants before breakfast. There is also a grocery store a little further on. Various mobile shops visit during the week too. Lussac, L'Isle Jourdain and Montmorillion are about 15 - 40 minutes away by car and have supermarkets, restaurants, shops and sites. There are one or two very good pizza places too.

The area is not at all touristy, it is ideal for eating, reading swimming and sun-bathing, every thing you need is only a short walk away in the village, for clubbing it is a non-starter.
